Power Round Info

General Information

  • This year’s Power Round will be conducted virtually for about two weeks before the competition date. Aside from the final deadline, there are no other time constraints.

  • Outside of collaborating with their teammates, students may not consult any other resources including but not limited to books, pre-written notes, the internet, and other people.

  • There are two divisions for the Power Round. The IN-PERSON division is for teams that are also participating in the group and individual rounds of CMM in-person at Caltech on January 27. The VIRTUAL division is for teams that are registered for the virtual competition only.

  • We will be using Gradescope and Piazza to facilitate the Power Round. On Monday, January 1 at 9:00 AM PST, we will send out instructions on how to join the Gradescope and Piazza courses. Please read and follow these instructions carefully.

  • The Power Round cover sheet will be available on both Gradescope and Piazza.

  • An Honor Code will be available on Gradescope. Each team will be required to upload a signed copy of the Honor Code by Monday, January 8 at 11:59 PM PST. Teams that fail to do so will be unable to participate in this year’s Power Round.

  • The test will be released on Wednesday, January 10 at 9:00 AM PST via Gradescope and teams will have until Wednesday, January 24, 11:59 PM PST to submit their solutions to Gradescope. Teams will be allowed to resubmit solutions up to the deadline, at which point the submission portal will be locked.
